ROK-US Alliance; Challenges and Responses

Lecturer: Ambassador Ahn HoYoung

President, University of North Korean Studies

The Republic of Korea has made widely acclaimed economic and democratic achievements over the past 70 years. Throughout this period, the ROK-US security alliance has served as an essential pillar for Korea’s national security and a linchpin for peace in Northeast Asia. The alliance between the two countries has faced many challenges, and it was these challenges that helped the relationship to grow stronger over time. Ambassador Ahn who has been at the forefront of Korea’s diplomacy during much of this time, will share his insight and perspective on the subject.
