In 2013, YÉOL created the “Young Craftsman Award” to recognize promising young craftsmen. The prize is aimed at expanding the field of craftsmanship by encouraging young talents to develop new perspectives on traditional craftsmanship, as well as exploring new applications.

Craftsman Im’s works, which have won a variety of international design exhibition awards in England, began with everyday objects within daily life. Pondering their purpose, studying their function, and focusing on their beauty, Craftsman Im seeks to use the natural material of wood and the processes of lathing and handwork to create objects to be kept by one’s side for years to come.
